There is no "Normal"

snow in march
I will start eating more healthily after the holidays; or

I will get on a better housework schedule when all the construction on the house is done; or even

I will be more organized about paperwork when the weather gets nicer (because sometimes there's no rhyme or reason to the excuses!)

In other words:

I will [insert activity here] when [insert event here] is over...
...you know, WHEN THINGS GET BACK TO NORMAL.

But, really, there is no normal!  There are always going to be events and holidays and projects and Acts of God that preclude -- in good ways and bad -- that elusive state of normal.  I just have to learn to be able to go with the flow.

(Easier said than done.  After all, this post was inspired by the fact that we woke up to an unexpected snowfall this morning, which meant the schools had a delayed opening, which meant my "schedule" got messed up.  How rigid, anal and control freak-y is that?)

  1. Enjoy your long weekend with the beauty of the snow, and the ones you love.

Especially since there are sometimes thoughtful comments I'd like to respond to but the commenter has a no-comment email address, I'm trying another tactic In the never-ending battle of indecision between responding to comments by email or answering them on the blog -- I'll do both! Of course, they'll be the same reply in both places ;)
