How I Spent Yet Another Rainy Tuesday Morning

My husband is bidding on a contract to do construction maintenance at a state-owned facility in our area, so I've been poring over Department of Labor wage charts, calling and faxing bonding companies, compiling a detailed list of jobs his firm has done over the past five years, and...

...are you still with me or have you been overcome with the heady excitement of hearing how I tossed hours of tedious work into the black hole that is New Jersey bureaucracy?

Whatever happened to, "I like your work.  You're hired." ???

At least dinner will be easy tonight -- linquini rabe, a quick pasta dish featuring broccoli rabe and mushrooms.

super simple crocheted Easter sweaters

ANYWAY...Easter is coming very early this year  as it did in 2008, which is the year (probably?) I made these sweaters to match my two youngest daughters' Easter dresses.

This is a very basic and easy joining of granny squares (a little how-to is here), but the girls have gotten more use out of these sweaters than maybe anything else I've ever made for them.  Sometimes simple crochet projects really are the most useful and satisfying!

  1. I feel a bit like you today, I have been sitting on my behind writing up an evaluation on a very, very involved little girl. I just can't find the correct words to explain her, yikes my brain is fried!
    Love the shawls.
    Hugs,

    1. Maybe you just have to step away for a bit and give the words a chance to stew for a while!

Especially since there are sometimes thoughtful comments I'd like to respond to but the commenter has a no-comment email address, I'm trying another tactic In the never-ending battle of indecision between responding to comments by email or answering them on the blog -- I'll do both! Of course, they'll be the same reply in both places ;)
