The winter had been relatively mild right through January, and that's always a plus. In early February, middle daughter won the American Idol-style competition at her school. What a thrill that was...
The very next day, we left for an anniversary trip to Atlantic City. It was cut short by what turned out to be a three-month, two-surgery kidney stone ordeal for my husband.

We started construction on the house -- a porch and dining room addition -- in September. The porch was done in time to sit outside in shock and awe of nature during Hurricane Sandy in October.
New and old parts of the dining room served their purpose on Thanksgiving, and things are very, very close to being all done now.
Interpretation of Mayan calendars was all wrong, but there were some pretty cool clouds on December 21!
With construction going on, we didn't decorate as usual for Christmas nor have a tree (and secretly, I liked it that way, Grinch that I can be!). But this was pretty festive on Christmas morning...
And now it's December 31. I have no resolutions, but there's a lot to look forward to in the coming year.Wishing a Happy New Year to all!

It looks like 2012 was a really nice year for you and your family, minus the downs there seem to be lots of ups.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you may you find peace and happiness in 2013
